The Circle We’re Building

Women Empowering Women Living Authentically

A Day of Rising, Thriving, and Elevating with WEWLA

On September 26th, the Jaded team partnered with Women Empowering Women Living Authentically (WEWLA), hosted by CEO, Francine Ayala. This wasn’t just another conference day, it was a day filled with a collision of energy and wisdom with unapologetic woman who rise, thrive, and elevate together.

From the moment we stepped into the venue, the air felt different—thick with anticipation and grounded in community. This wasn’t just about exchanging business cards; it was about rewriting narratives.

One of the day’s most impactful moments came from Virginia Scheuer, who spoke on neuroplasticity and the power to rewire our own minds. She shared a four- step process: Feel, Find, Focus, Flow — that showed us how to move through emotions, ground ourselves in the present, and shift from judgement to curiosity until we find authentic momentum.

“No, it’s not true- an old dog can learn new tricks and so can you. “

That same energy carried into Jaded’s raffle, where a winner passed her $100 gift card to her friend Kristina- who earlier had shared her struggle with jaded to find a jumpsuit that made her feel truly sexy. Now, she’ll have one designed just for her. Empowerment, tailored to her body. That’s the Jaded experience.

The day closed with keynote speaker Veronica Corona, keynote speaker, award-winning entrepreneur, business consultant, and Distinguished Toastmaster. She shared how she built her multimillion-dollar company on relationships, not products. Her words summed up the day,

“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together in community.”

Her reminder was simple but profound: you are your brand. How you treat and address people determines how long they stay in your life and who they bring you around. People buy into you before they buy anything you offer. Today, Veronica dedicates her work to inspiring entrepreneurs and future leaders to invest in the one asset that never loses value: connection.

WEWLA was more than a conference—it was proof that when women gather with intention, connection becomes transformation.

Tumaini International

Tumaini Fundraising Gala — A Night of Hope

Later that day, the Jaded team traded the energy of WEWLA for the intimate glow of the Tumaini International College Fund Gala. Tumaini means hope in Swahili, and the evening embodied just that—hope made tangible.

We heard from alumna Judy Nzeki, who shared how the program lifted her to university and how she now teaches and mentors young girls at Tumaini Girls High School—the mentor she once needed. We also learned of Nicholas Ketuco, a student-turned-economist who now gives back as a mentor himself.

Founder, Stanley Mutunga reminded us of Tumaini’s beginnings—born out of the AIDS epidemic that devastated his Kenyan village. What started with sponsoring 15 orphans has grown to more than 170,000 beneficiaries, providing education, medical care, and socio-economic support.

The message was clear: girls are the most at risk of being left behind, but through the Alumni Fund, Tumaini is breaking barriers to ensure daughters and sons alike get their chance at education.

As the night closed, one truth stood out: hope is not abstract. It’s alive in every student, mentor, and supporter. Together, we can keep hope alive.
